Gina is a moshav located in southern occupied Palestine, approximately three kilometers southeast of Ashkelon, near Beit Shikma and Talmei Yafeh. The moshav was established in 1949 by Zionist immigrants from Czechoslovakia and Hungary. It was named after the depopulated Palestinian village of Al-Hiyya, on whose lands it was built. In 2021, the settlement’s population was approximately 980 settlers. Sources: Due to the scarcity of Arabic sources, Hebrew sources were used, including:

  • The official Hebrew website of the settlement

  • The Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics

  • The village of Al-Hiyya from the Palestine Remembered website
