HaHotrim is a kibbutz located in northern occupied Palestine, near Tirat Carmel. As of 2022, the settlement had a population of 903 settlers. The origins of the kibbutz date back to December 1941, when a labor company was formed near Kiryat Haim by Jewish refugees from Czechoslovakia and Germany. The kibbutz was officially established in 1952 on the lands of the depopulated Palestinian village of al-Tira. In 1999, the Mount Carmel naval base was relocated to this area. Sources: Due to the scarcity of Arabic sources, Israeli sources were used, including:

  • The official website of the settlement (in Hebrew)

  • The Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics

  • The entry for al-Tira villageon
