Kiryat Gat is an Israeli settlement established in 1954, located approximately 45 kilometers northeast of the Gaza Strip. It was founded on the lands of the depopulated Palestinian village of ‘Iraq al-Manshiyya’ and later expanded onto the adjacent lands of the depopulated village of al-Faluja. Following the Russian immigration to occupied Palestine in 1991, the settlement was populated by a large number of settlers. According to Israeli sources, it currently has a population of approximately 60,000 settlers and includes an advanced electronics factory.
