The colony (moshav) was established in the 1950s on the lands of the depopulated Palestinian village of Umm 'Amara, located in the District of Baysan (Beisan). Three other colonies had been established near the village, though not on its lands:

  • Avuqacolony, established in 1941, is located to the north.

  • Ein HaNatzivkibbutz, founded in 1946, lies in the western (Arab) part of the site.

  • Kfar Ruppinkibbutz, established in 1938, is situated in the eastern part.
