Nataf is a communal settlement located in the central region of the occupied Palestinian territory, approximately 12 miles west of Jerusalem. According to historian Walid Khalidi, Nataf was established in 1982 on land belonging to the depopulated Palestinian village of Bayt Thul, situated less than one kilometer south of the original site of the village of Nataf.

The official website of the settlement claims that Nataf was built on land purchased from Arabs, stating that 40 Zionist families acquired the land from Arabs in Abu Ghosh. As of 2021, the population of the settlement stood at 478 settlers.
