Known as the "Gaza Division Headquarters," it is a large military force comprising all Israeli military formations. It is located near the armored corps base, and its primary mission is to secure the entire border with Egypt—from eastern Rafah to Sudanah, extending to the settlement of Zikim inside Israel. Since the morning of Saturday, October 7, the fiercest battles have taken place at this base between the Palestinian resistance and the occupying soldiers, many of whom were killed or captured, including the division commander, General Tamrud Aloni. Numerous military vehicles were destroyed, with some withdrawn into the Gaza Strip.
