Sde Azariah is a moshav located in the southern part of the occupied Palestinian territories, near the city of Ashdod. It was established in 1950 by Zionist refugees expelled from Libya. The settlement was originally named Ashdod D, Yad Shimshon, and Uziah, before finally being named after Azariah of Judah (in Hebrew), who, according to the Bible, built cities on the current site. The settlement of Sde Azariah was built on the lands of the Palestinian Arab village of Isdud, whose residents were evacuated in 1948. In 2022, the number of settlers was 1,617.
