Tirat Yehuda is a religious moshav in the central region of occupied Palestine. The moshav was established in 1949 by Jewish immigrants from Hungary. Initially, it was located northeast of its current site, in the area now known as Barakat, before moving to its current location in 1951. The settlement was named after the neighboring depopulated Palestinian village of al-Tira, which previously existed on the same site. As of 2021, the settlement had a population of 1,211 settlers. Sources: Due to the scarcity of Arabic sources, we relied on Hebrew sources: the Hebrew website of the settlement / Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics. The village of al-Tira is referenced from the Palestine in Memory website.
