Yazur Massacre

The Zionists intensified their attacks on the village of Yazur. Israeli occupation convoy guards on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv road opened fire and threw grenades at the village and its residents. After seven Zionists were killed when a guard vehicle hit a mine near the village, Haganah operations officer Yigal Yadin ordered Palmach commander Yigal Allon to carry out a swift military operation against it, including blowing up and burning houses and assassinating residents.

On January 22, 1948, 30 days after the mine explosion, Yitzhak Rabin, the Palmach’s operations officer at the time, led a full-scale dawn attack in which the attacking forces blew up dozens of houses and buildings, martyring 15 Palestinians from the village, most of them in their beds.
