Zrahiya is a religious moshav located in southern occupied Palestine, near Kiryat Malakhi. It was established in 1950 on land that formerly belonged to the depopulated Palestinian village of East Al-Sawafir. Most of the founders were immigrants from Iran, although some also came from Morocco, especially from that country. The settlement is named after Zechariah, one of Ezra’s ancestors. As of 2022, the population was approximately 737 settlers. Sources: Due to the scarcity of Arabic sources, Hebrew sources were used: the settlement’s Hebrew website and the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics. The village of East Al-Sawafir information was obtained from the Palestine Remembered website.
