Ganei Yehuda is a moshav established in 1950 in the Ono Valley, adjacent to the settlements of Yehud and Kiryat Ono. It was named after the biblical figure of Judah, the fourth son of Jacob and Leah and founder of the Tribe of Judah. In 2003, Ganei Yehuda was merged with Savyon.

Both Savyon and Ganei Yehuda are located on the lands of the Palestinian village of al-Abbasiyya, whose residents were displaced during the 1948 war.

Sources:Due to the scarcity of Arabic sources, the following Hebrew sources were relied upon:

  • The settlement's official website (Hebrew)

  • Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics

  • Information on the village of al-Abbasiyya from the Palestine Remembered website.
