Nofekh Settlement
Updated: Sep 7

Nofekh is a collective settlement located in central occupied Palestine. Its name derives from one of the twelve stones that adorned the "Hoshen" (breastplate) worn by the High Priest. Other neighboring settlements have also been named after stones from the Hoshen, such as Shoham, Bareket, Lashem, and Achlama (formerly known as Beit Arif).
The settlement was established in 1949 by immigrants from Morocco, on the lands of the depopulated Palestinian village of Rantiya. Its population in 2022 was about 631 people.
